Produced by the women of the Union Cecanor Co-operative in Peru’s Lambayeque region (and part of the Café Femenino Coffee Project), this coffee is grown, processed and traded exclusively by women. Made from 100% Arabica beans, it’s got a sneaky dark chocolate undertone and a mild citrus to balance it out. It’s a richness that just cannot be beaten.

Producer

As the proud winner of no fewer than 6 Great Taste Awards in 2013 and the recent accolade of ‘Best Coffee Brand’ in the recent Fine Food Digest’s ‘Best Brands 2013-14’ issue, Grumpy Mule (an eight-year-old speciality coffee brand) offers distinctive and certified coffees. With years of experience under their belts, Ian Balmforth and Damian Blackburn built the Grumpy Mule brand to what it is today. Journeying around the tropics in search of unique coffees that would surprise and delight us, so that we too could experience the rare flavours and aromas of such fantastic coffees. The ethos of the brand is underpinned by long standing, direct relationships with farmers and co-operatives who share the same passion for quality coffee and ethical sourcing. By working this way, they ensure both sustainable livelihoods for the farmers and their communities and consistently great tasting coffee for us.
