Though they started out as a small farm, Calon Wen are now Wales’ leading organic dairy cooperative. As their family grows, so too have their ambitions. While their cows graze on clover-rich, un-treated pastures, making deliciously creamy milk, the farmers have preserved ungrazed wildflower margins for pollinators to return to as part of the ‘Pasture for Pollinators’ programme. Now, 73 species of bees, butterflies and other bugs have returned in a brilliant display of biodiversity.
