Our monkfish fillets come by way of Celtic Coast Fish Company, who source fish with sustainability and freshness in mind. It’s a wonderfully meaty and firm fish – with a similar taste to langoustine – making it great for searing then roasting. Monkfish holds its own when partnered with strong flavours and herbs, so you can put together meals that leave quite the impression. Our monkfish is Otter trawled from the North Sea and landed into Peterhead. It has an MCS rating of 3.

Celtic Coast Fish Company was started by two former fishmongers Nick and Gareth, who wanted to source wonderful, fresh fish in the right way: sustainably and responsibly. They have good links with UK fish markets from Cornwall to Scotland, but also work with fishers in and around Wales and Ireland.

Storage & prep

Monkfish is a solid white fish with a firm texture, and ideal for a wide range of cooking styles. It is particularly suitable for steaming, roasting and Thai cooking. Our monkfish fillets should be refrigerated upon delivery.

We guarantee that your fish will have at least 3 days before its expiry date, including the day of your delivery.

Suitable for home freezing.
