These are the kings (or queens!) of all figs. When ripe, they smell of honey and melt gracefully in the mouth.
They're so stunning that you don't really need to do much to them. Serve with Brie and walnuts or yogurt and honey for a French-style breakfast. Poach in a dessert wine and serve with vanilla custard. You can even roast them with honey and serve with wild venison or duck.

Figs do not have a particularly long shelf life and should be refrigerated upon delivery. They can be frozen and are eaten as a natural sorbet in some Mediterranean countries when eaten immediately after removing them from the freezer.
