Every meal begins on the chopping board, and this handmade, London plane, beauty is the perfect starting place. For each one sold, we’ll donate £20 to the Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT), who have made these exquisite chopping boards possible.
As part of their work supporting people through addiction and homelessness, SCT run the Restoration Station. Their focus is on upcycling and preventing many un-loved pieces of furniture going to landfill. Their trainees are given the satisfaction of creative work and improved confidence, by being providing a space to engage with new people in their walk-in shop. This supports on-going recovery, while preparing people to move on into work for a sustainable future.

Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) began by setting up a soup kitchen and night shelter for men experiencing homelessness and addiction from the crypt of Christ Church Spitalfields. More than fifty years later, they run an addiction treatment centre, as well as personal development and training services for people in recovery, and a number of social enterprises. Their vintage furniture business, Restoration Station aims to help people through their recovery from addiction by providing people the opportunity to learn about woodwork and restoring furniture. Restoration Station also provides structure for their on-going recovery and prepares for moving on into paid work.
