Sitting at the head of the organic cabbage court is the regal January King. This hardy, crunchy and slightly sweet winter cabbage is right at home in your Sunday roasts, stews and other warming favourites when the chilly weather blows in.

Sometimes, to avoid any remaining field debris or soil, we may remove some of the outer leaves from the cabbage before sending them out for you. This may remove some of the deeper purple leaves, leaving the crunchy green leaves for you to enjoy.

Jeremy Helme’s Pool Hullock farm is just on the Welsh border, by the village of Llandinabo. It’s a little family farm, where Jeremy also grows our more weird and wonderful things (including chillies, squash and Jerusalem artichokes).
