Producer
In 1989, mum of two Kiran was missing her home in India. She decided to drop into the Tea Board of India’s London office, where she met Rajah Banerjee, a man full of enthusiasm for his Makaibari tea gardens in Darjeeling. Inspired, Kiran entered the world of natural tea cultivation, and organised for the Makaibari estate to be certified organic.
Kiran’s multi-award winning, Fairtrade tea venture is now certified biodynamic. This means that Hampstead Tea go above and beyond to guarantee that their methods of production and processing are environmentally-friendly, ethical and sustainable.
