What makes me special?

- Full-bodied and aromatic. A rich, savoury flavour with delicate notes developed during maturation and red wine yeast treatment.
- Made with organic hay milk. Crafted from 100% organic ingredients, including organic hay milk and red wine yeast.
- Traditionally matured. A three-month ageing period allows this semi-hard cheese to develop its distinctive character.
- Treated with red wine yeast. Regular washing with a special blend of red wine yeast and salt creates its unmistakable aroma and dark rind.
- Smooth and easy to slice. The firm yet supple texture makes it ideal for slicing onto cheeseboards and sharing platters.
- Perfect for entertaining. Enjoy at room temperature with a glass of red wine and some crusty bread.
- Sustainably delivered. Arrives at your table with zero air miles and zero pointless plastic.

Producer

In the village of Geifertshofen in Germany’s Hohenlohe region, Dorfkäserei crafts traditional cheeses from organic hay milk supplied by 12 family-run farms nearby. The dairy focuses on simple, time-honoured cheesemaking, turning fresh hay milk into characterful cheeses that let the quality of the milk shine through. Every cheese is made using just a handful of ingredients: fresh hay milk, cultures, salt and rennet. The result is a range of naturally made cheeses with plenty of depth and flavour, created by people who are passionate about keeping regional cheesemaking traditions alive.
