Coffee Logs, bio-beans (pack of 16 - 8kg)

(£1.00 per 1kg)

Here's coffee like you've never seen it before. The clever heads at bio-bean have managed to turn waste coffee grounds into a sustainable type of fuel. They're ideal for use in wood burners and stoves, and the logs (each one made from the grounds of 25 cups of coffee) produce more heat for your buck than other fuels, and burn for much longer than wood too.

bio-bean is in the clean energy business. They take waste coffee grounds and turn it into biofuel, a very clever idea, and most probably much less simple than it actually sounds. The idea is Arthur Kay's, and the venture has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2013. They're now able to process up to 50,000 tonnes of coffee ground waste every year (the waste of one in ten coffee cups drunk in the UK) at their factory in Alconbury Weald, and transform it into a whole lot of sustainable fuel. They're now broadening their horizons, and exploring liquid fuels and biochemicals, all with a view to making the world a cleaner place.
