Pear, Avocado & Ginger Thickie

This smooth operator gets its velvety creaminess from cool avocado and a splash of hazelnut drink, whizzed with sweet pears, a squeeze of orange juice and a spicy slice of fresh ginger to make a super refreshing eye-opener of a shake.

Ingredients you'll need
- 1 avocado
- 2 pears
- 1cm slice of ginger
- 1 orange
- 330ml hazelnut drink

- A few ice cubes

- Measuring jug
Step by step this way

Halve the avocado and remove the stone. Scoop the avocado flesh into your blender. Cut the pears into quarters and slice out the cores. Add the pears to the blender.

Cut a 1cm slice off the ginger and grate it into the blender. Squeeze in the orange juice.
- 3.
Pour in 330ml hazelnut drink (save the rest for this week’s other smoothies). Add a handful of ice cubes and whizz till smooth. Taste, and if you think it could do with more ginger, grate in a little more and whizz again. Pour the smoothie into 2 glasses and serve.
