Apple Cake Smoothie

We like to have our cake and drink it, taking the flavours of a teatime treat – tart apples, sweet carrots and bananas, a spicy pinch of nutmeg – and adding a splash of almond drink to turn them into sippable spin on a seasonal pud.

Ingredients you'll need
  • 2 apples
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 banana
  • 330ml ultimate almond drink
  • 1 nutmeg
  • 25g sunflower seeds

  • A few ice cubes

Step by step this way

    Quarter the apples and slice out the cores. Roughly chop the apples and add them to your blender. Scrub and roughly chop the carrot. Add it to the blender. Peel and break in the banana. Tip in the sunflower seeds.

    Give the almond drink a careful shake to make sure it’s well mixed. Pour in 330ml Ultimate Almond Drink (keep the rest of the carton for this week’s other smoothies). Add a few ice cubes and blitz till smooth. Pour into glasses and grate a little nutmeg over the top to serve.
