Honey & Thyme Glazed Pears

The cold weather brings a bounty of tender, sweet pears. Softened with a sprinkle of thyme, a little garlic and a sticky slick of honey they make a great side to roasted meat.

Ingredients

  • 6 pears
  • 1 garlic clove
  • A handful of thyme, leaves only
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Sea salt and freshly ground pepper

Method

1. Peel the pears and cut them into quarters. Slice the pear quarters into 2-3 wedges. Peel and thinly slice the garlic clove and pick the thyme leaves.
2. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a frying pan on a medium heat. Slide in the sliced pears, sliced garlic and thyme leaves. Add 2 tbsp honey and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for6-8 mins, turning occasionally, till the pears are tender and glazed. Transfer to a bowl and serve.
