A beautifully juicy number, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Grenache is a relative newcomer to the organic portfolio of local producer Albet i Noya but they say it’s already one of their favourites - to make and to guzzle themselves at home! The South-West facing vineyard on the foot of the Ordal Mountains experiences long, warm days perfect for ripening such sturdy varieties, whilst the clay and magnesium-rich soils help retain water for dry periods, giving the vines the drink they need at the right time. The wine is fleshy and ripe witharomas of blackberry, black cherry and small hints of rose petal. The palate carries a little sweetness that balances out the acidity and makes it food friendly too.

Pair it with our light, fresh Greek Ratatouille, it's an absolute dream.

Producer

This red is from Penedès in Catalunya, from local producer Albet i Noya. They’ve been making wine at the Can Vendrell de la Codina estate for five generations now, tending to the vineyards with a lot of love and care, and picking up a lot of know-how in the process. Penedès hashistorically been known for only cava but things are certainly changing. There are some brilliantly innovative movers and shakers in the region doing something special and bucking the fizzy trend, and this bunch of passionate, adventurous viticulurists is case in point.
