Give a warm welcome to this Sangiovese from Di Filippo in Umbria, where the vineyards spread above the town of Assisi in Perugia. Devotees to organic agriculture there use key biodynamic practices in their grape growing and wine making – finding a constant balance between man, soil, flora and fauna. And, of course, make a thoroughly tasty wine as a result. Richer and perhaps more serious than the Villa Conversino Sangiovese, with strong echoes of Morello cherry, and an enhanced velvety texture throughout.
