Orange & Hazelnut Hot Chocolate

Indulge in steaming mug of our rich-but-speedy hot chocolate. It's a great way to use up a few leftover spoonfuls of chocolate spread.

  • 100g chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder, plus extra to dust
  • 2 oranges
  • 500ml full cream milk
  • Whipped cream, to garnish

Method

1. Spoon the chocolate spread and cocoa powder into a small pan. Finely grate in the zest from 1 orange. Squeeze in the juice. Add a pinch of salt and whisk together. Slowly whisk in the milk till it's smoothly combined with the chocolate spread.
2. Set the pan on a medium heat and warm for 5-8 mins, whisking occasionally. Meanwhile, slice a round from the middle of the second orange and slice it into quarters.
3. Pour the hot chocolate into 2 mugs. Top with spoonfuls of whipped cream. Tuck the orange quarters into the cream. Dust over a little cocoa powder and serve straight away.
4. Make It Dark
For a richer, dark hot chocolate use dark chocolate hazelnut spread.
