Simon and Garfunkel, Batman and Robin and of course cheese and wine. Famous partnerships live forever, and this pairing is a star in its own right. The well balanced acidity, crispness and light fizz of the Pinot Noir Frizzante cut beautifully through the buttery creaminess of Godminster’s famous Cheddar for an indulgent match made in organic heaven.

Producer

Pinot Noir Frizzante - Run by the delightful Werner Michlits, the Meinklang vineyards are to be found on the eastern side of Neusiedlersee in eastern Austria close to the Hungarian border. With its clear flavour and well-balanced acidity, it is made from grapes picked when temperatures plummet below freezing.

Godminster Cheddar - There's been a farm down at Godminster dairy for over 100 years now. There's now a herd of Friesian, Norwegian Red and Norwegian Brown cattle grazing over the Somerset farm, watched over by Richard Hollingbery and his family. With the expertise of local cheesemakers, the Hollingberys turn their organic cows milk into gorgeous cheeses.
