Smashed Avocado on Sourdough Toast

Avo toast is the speedy breakfast dish that became a brunch classic. We love topping toasted sourdough bread with creamy mashed avocado that's been brightened with a squeeze of lime and sprinkled with a pinch of chilli flakes for mouth-tingling heat.


  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 lime
  • 2-4 slices sourdough bread
  • A pinch of chilli flakes (optional)
  • A few pinches of alfalfa & radish sprouts

1. Halve the avocado and scoop out the stone. Scoop the flesh into a bowl. Squeeze in the juice from half a lime. Add a pinch of salt and pepper and mash together with a fork till as smooth or as chunky as you like it.
2. Toast the sourdough bread. Place the toast on 2 plates and drizzle over a little olive oil. Spoon the smashed avocado onto the toast. Sprinkle over a pinch of chilli flakes (if using) and a little pinch of salt and pepper. Top with a pinch or two of alfalfa & radish sprouts and serve with a wedge of lime on the side for squeezing.
