Salted Caramel & Cashew Smoothie

A small pinch of sea salt makes a big difference to this rich, luxurious smoothie that blends smooth bananas, sweet dates and creamy cashews to make a sophisticated toffee-ish treat.


  • 2 bananas
  • 3 Medjool dates
  • 35g cashews
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 250ml coconut water
  • Sea salt
  • A couple of ice cubes

1. Peel the bananas and break them into chunks (see our tip below for how to make your smoothie into a frozen shake). Halve the dates and pop out the stones. Put the bananas, dates and cashews in your blender with a pinch of cinnamon and a small pinch of sea salt.
2. Pour in the coconut water and add a couple of ice cubes. Blitz till smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon to serve.
3. Tip: If you have time, soak the cashews in water overnight. Drain, rinse and add to the blender with the rest of the ingredients. Soaking makes them easier to blend and may make them easier to digest.
