Creating an impact from farm to fork, IBIS Rice was founded by the Wildlife Conservation Society to save the giant ibis – an endangered bird native to Cambodia. Believed to be extinct for over 50 years, the giant ibis was rediscovered living near villages growing heritage varieties of jasmine rice. Developing a wildlife-friendly farming model to grow the Phka Rumdoul variety, IBIS Rice has reduced local deforestation by 75% and stabilised local wildlife populations. By paying their farmers 70% above market prices for their rice, IBIS Rice has also helped to positively impact local communities. From their flavourful rice cakes to nourishing cereals, their food does so much more than just taste great.
