Port & Ice Cream

This easy festive dessert has just three ingredients and takes 5 minutes to make. Port is a Christmas essential. Its warming mix of berry and plum flavours are traditionally paired with blue cheeses, like Stilton. But pour it over a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and grate over some dark chocolate and you have a luxuriously rich dessert – with almost no effort required.

Ingredients

  • 3 scoops of good quality vanilla ice cream
  • 50ml port
  • Dark chocolate, to grate

Method

1. Take the ice cream out of the fridge 5-10 mins before you want to serve the dessert to let it soften.
2. To serve, add 3 scoops of the ice cream to a large wine glass. Pour the port over the top. Finely grate a little chocolate over the top and serve.
