Lemon, Ginger & Turmeric Tea Cubes

Lemon, Ginger & Turmeric Tea Cubes

Freeze a batch of these golden tea cubes. They're a fiery mix of lemon, ginger and turmeric. When you want a cuppa, drop a tea cube into your mug, add water and enjoy. Revitalising and refreshing. The perfect winter warmer.

Ingredients

  • 4 lemons
  • A thumb of ginger
  • A thumb of turmeric
  • A drizzle of honey or maple syrup (optional)

Method

1. Halve the lemons and squeeze the juice into a jug. Finely grate in the ginger and turmeric (no need to peel, unless you prefer to). Stir well, then pour the golden liquid into ice cube trays. You should make about 12 cubes. Slide into the freezer till frozen solid.
2. To use your tea cubes, pop a cube out of the tray and drop it into a mug. Pour over hot water from the kettle and stir. Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup to sweeten, if you like.
3. TOP TIPS
The lemon, ginger & turmeric cubes will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
This is a great way to use up zested lemons.
These golden cubes can be dropped into curries for a quick flavour boost.
Add a handful of the cubes to a jug of cold water for a refreshing summer drink.
