A stylish mix of stout and Champagne, the Black Velvet cocktail is said to have been invented in 1861 to mark the death of Prince Albert. With a malty, chocolatey flavour and a gentle sparkle, it makes a fabulously festive drink that you can mix in minutes - the perfect party drink.

Ingredients

  • 500ml Stoodley Stout
  • Chilled Champagne, to top up

Method

1. Chill 4 champagne flutes in the fridge for a few hours, or in the freezer for 30 mins.
2. When you're ready to serve, pour 125ml stout into each flute, then top up with chilled Champagne. Gently stir to mix and serve.
