Matcha Oat Milk Latte

Matcha lattes combine Japan's famous matcha green tea with American coffee culture to create a rich and soothing drink that's perfect with brunch or for a tea break. This version uses creamy oat milk to put a vegan twist on this global favourite.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp matcha tea
  • 2 tbsp maple or agave syrup
  • 600ml Minor Figures barista style oat m*lk

Method

1. Fill and boil your kettle. Tip 1 tsp matcha powder into two mugs and add 1 tbsp maple or agave syrup to each mig. Pour 1 tbsp hot water from your kettle into each mug and whisk till you have a smooth paste.
2. Heat your oat milk in a pan set over a medium heat, using a whisk or an electric milk frother to whisk the oat milk till it's foaming and warmed through. Pour into a jug. Alternatively, steam the oat milk in a frothing pitcher using a steaming wand on a coffee machine till thick and frothy.
3. Hold a mug at an angle and pour the hot milk down the inside of the mug, levelling the mug as it fills up. This will help you create swirls and patterns over the top of the milk. Repeat with the other mug. Serve straight away.
