Whip up our delicious Hake with Garlic & Herb Butter for a speedy, midweek meal. Each pack contains two fillets of our wild-caught, responsibly-fished hake and a slice of creamy garlic and herb butter from Brue Valley on top of each piece. The butter is batch-crafted using traditional methods passed down through generations to create a beautiful, open texture, perfect for imparting flavour into your fish as it cooks.

There are lots of ways to enjoy your hake, so you can cook it just the way you like. Try pan frying with a touch of olive or coconut oil, adding the butter to the pan right at the end of cooking to create a delicious sauce. Or wrap the hake and butter up in a little tinfoil or parchment paper and roast it in the oven until it’s cooked through. Perfect served with white beans and steamed greens.

Our hake comes from both Cornwall and the Irish/North Seas. From Cornwall it will either be gill or fixed netted and have an MCS rating of 1. When caught in the Irish/North Sea, it will be pelagic/demersal otter trawled and have an MCS rating of 2. Caution: Although every care has been taken to remove bones, some may remain.

Storage & prep

Store refrigerated below 5°C, and consume on or before the use by date shown on the pack. This Hake is suitable for home freezing, freeze as soon as possible after delivery and before the best before date. Use within one month of freezing. Ensure that the product is fully defrosted before cooking. Once defrosted do not re-freeze.

Suitable for frying or oven baking. Wrap into a parchment parcel and cook in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked thoroughly. Alternatively pan fry for 6-8 minutes or until the fish is cooked though.
