A golden glassful of sweet, juicy mango whizzed with velvety banana, an earthy pinch of turmeric spice, nutty flax seeds and a squeeze of lemon, plus a creamy splash of tiger nut drink.

Ingredients you'll need
  • 1 mango
  • 1 banana
  • A thumb of turmeric
  • 15g flax seeds
  • 1 lemon
  • 330ml tiger nut drink

Step by step this way

    Slice the fat cheeks off the mango stone, then slice the thinner sides off the stone. Slice the mango flesh off the skin and pop it into your blender. Slice as much flesh off the stone as you can and add that too. Peel and break in the banana. Grate in half the turmeric (see our turmeric tip below). Shake in the flax seeds.

    Grate in the lemon zest and squeeze in half of the juice. Pour in 330ml tiger nut drink (save the rest of the carton for this week’s other smoothies). Add a handful of ice cubes and blitz till smooth and creamy. Pour into a couple of glasses and serve.

    Yellow alert
    Fresh turmeric has a warm, earthy flavour that blends beautifully with sweet mango and banana. Start by adding a little turmeric, then taste and add more if you want a more powerful drink. Be warned! Turmeric likes to stain everything yellow. prepare it on a glass chopping board, a plate or a board you can wash up straight away and wear gloves and an apron to protect your hands and clothes.
