Ingredients you'll need
  • 25g sesame seeds
  • 2 oranges
  • 2 bananas
  • 300ml maple water
  • A pinch of cinnamon
From your kitchen
  • A few ice cubes
Step by step this way
  • 1.

Tip the sesame seeds into a dry frying pan and set on a medium heat. Toast, stirring, for 2-3 mins till the seeds look glossy (this is the oil being released) and smell nutty. Scoop the seeds into your blender. You don’t have to toast the sesame seeds - you can just tip them straight into your blender, but toasting them gives the smoothie a nuttier flavour.

  • 2.

Slice the skin and white pith from the oranges, then use a small fruit knife to slice the segments out of the membranes and slide the orange flesh into a blender. Squeeze the membranes over the blender to wring out any remaining juice.

  • 3.

Peel and break in the bananas. Pour in 300ml maple water and add a few ice cubes. Blitz for a few mins till smooth. Pour into 2 large glasses and dust the smoothies with a pinch of cinnamon before serving.

  • Tip

    Nice & freezey
For a slightly thicker shake, peel the bananas, slice them and freeze them overnight. Use the frozen banana in the smoothie and don't include the ice cubes.
