Ruby Grapefruit & Coconut Smoothie

There’s a new seasonal citrus on the scene, and it’s an absolute star – a star ruby grapefruit, that is. It’s wonderful whizzed with juicy orange, a splash of coconut drink, and creamy bananas to make a rich smoothie made extra velvety by a nutty handful of flax seeds.

Ingredients you'll need
  • 1 star ruby grapefruit
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 orange
  • 15g flax seeds
  • 250ml coconut drink

Step by step this way

    Slice the skin and white pith off the star ruby grapefruit, then slice the segments out of the membrane. Add the grapefruit to the blender and squeeze the membranes over the blender to squeeze out any juice.

    Peel and break in the bananas. Halve the orange and squeeze in the juice. Tip in the flax seeds.

    Pour in the coconut drink and add a handful of ice cubes. Blend till smooth and creamy, then pour into glasses and serve.
