Orange, Nut & Spice Shake

Kale brings its leafy green-ness to this thick, creamy smoothie made with a nutty handful of cashews, sweet bananas and freshly squeezed orange juice, and a lively dash of aromatic mixed spice.

Ingredients you'll need
- 50g kale
- 2 bananas
- 35g cashews
- A pinch or 2 of mixed spice
- 1 orange
- 330ml dairy free whole mylk

Step by step this way

Roughly chop the kale, discarding any really thick cores, and add it to your blender. Peel and break in the bananas. Tip in the cashews. Add a generous pinch of mixed spice. Grate in the orange zest and squeeze in the juice.

Pour 330ml whole mylk into the blender (save the rest for this week’s other smoothies). Add a handful of ice cubes. Whizz till smooth, then pour into a couple of glasses and serve.
- Tip
A nice long soak
If you have time, soak the cashews in water overnight. Drain, rinse and add to the blender with the rest of the ingredients. Soaking makes them easier to blend and may make them easier to digest.
