Open Sesame Mango

Mix up some smoothie magic with this sweet and spicy concoction that blitzes juicy mango with golden turmeric, baby spinach leaves and a nutty dash of sesame seeds.

Ingredients you'll need
- 1 banana
- 1 mango
- 1cm slice of turmeric
- 25g sesame seeds
- 50g baby leaf spinach
- 330ml brown rice drink

- A couple of ice cubes
You'll need

Step by step this way

Peel and break the banana into your blender. Peel the mango and slice the flesh off the stone. Chop the mango flesh into small pieces and add it to the blender.

Drop in a 1cm slice of turmeric (no need to peel it – see out turmeric prep tip). Tip in the sesame seeds and tuck in the baby leaf spinach. 3 Add a few ice cubes and pour in 330ml brown rice drink (save the rest for this week’s other smoothies). Blitz smooth, then pour into a couple of glasses and serve.

Turmeric likes to share its sunny colour, so chop it on a glass board or one you can wash up right away. You can also wear gloves and an apron to keep your fingers and clothes stain free.
