- 1 orange
- 1 banana
- 1 cm slice ginger
- 330ml ultimate almond drink
- A few ice cubes

Trim and roughly chop the carrots (no need to peel them unless you want to) and add them to your blender. Finely grate in the zest from the orange, then slice off the white pith. Halve the orange and flick out any pips. Add the orange to the blender.

Peel and break in the banana. Add a 1cm slice of ginger (see our tip, below). Pour in 330ml ultimate almond drink (save the rest for this week’s other smoothies). Add a few ice cubes and whizz till smooth. Serve straight away.

Hot Stuff
A 1cm-thick slice of fresh ginger should give your smoothie and gingery kick. But once it has been blended, you can taste the smoothie and add another slice of the ginger and blitz again till you get the level of heat your prefer. The remaining ginger will keep well in your fridge. Add slices to jugs of iced water, or grate it into a teapot and step in boiling water for 2-3 mins to make a hot ginger tea.
