- 1 mango
- 1 banana
- A thumb of turmeric
- 1 tsp maca root powder
- 300ml cold water
- A few ice cubes

Peel the mango and slice the flesh off the stone. Pop the mango into your blender. Peel the banana and break it into the blender. Roughly chop the turmeric (see our tip about stain-free turmeric prep) and add that to the blender too. Tip in 1 tsp maca root powder.

Pour 300ml cold water into the blender and add a few ice cubes. Blend till smooth, then pour into a couple of glasses and serve.

Turmeric likes to share its sunny colour, so chop it on a glass board or one you can wash up right away. You can also wear gloves and an apron to keep your fingers and clothes stain free. - Tip

Maca root, sometimes called Peruvian ginseng, is native to the Andes Mountains and looks a bit like a long skinny turnip. In its dried, powdered form, it has an earthy nuttiness to it.
