Date The Dragon Shake

Slaying dragons is so fourth century – why not date one instead, wooing it with a drink so sweet and smooth even the scaliest fire breather couldn’t resist. It’s made with dates, creamy bananas, a scattering of nutty sunflower seeds and a green tangle of lamb’s lettuce, all whizzed with a splash of tangy kefir. This smoothie came to slay, but… not like that.

Ingredients you'll need
- 2 bananas
- 2 Medjool dates
- 50g lamb's lettuce
- 25g sunflower seeds
- 250ml kefir
From your kitchen
- 150ml cold water
- A few ice cubes
Step by step this way

Peel the bananas and break them into your blender. Pop the stones out of the Medjool dates, roughly chop the dates and add them to the blender. Tip in the sunflower seeds. Tuck the lamb’s lettuce into the blender.

Pour the kefir into the blender and add 150ml cold water and a few ice cubes. Blitz for a few mins till smooth and combined, then pour into two glasses and serve straight away.
