A sunset-coloured smoothie made with seasonal citrus star, blood oranges, blitzed with creamy bananas and sweet carrots, earthy spice from fresh turmeric and a tropical splash of coconut oil.

Ingredients you'll need
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 bananas
  • A thumb of turmeric
  • 2 blood oranges
  • 10g coconut oil

  • 250ml cold water
  • A few ice cubes

Step by step this way

    Scrub and coarsely grate the carrots (no need to peel them) and add them to your blender. Peel and break in the bananas. Grate the turmeric (see our turmeric tip). Zest in the blood oranges, then halve them and squeeze in the juice.

    Add the coconut oil. Pour in 250ml ice-cold water and drop in a few ice cubes. Blend till smooth, adding a little more water if needed.

    Turmeric is a colourful character, so to keep your kitchen stain free, grate it onto a glass board or plate, and wear gloves and an apron to protect your hands and clothes.
