Apple Cake Smoothie

We like to have our cake and drink it, turning the flavours of an autumnal treat – tart apples, sweet carrots and bananas, nutty sunflower seeds, a spicy pinch of nutmeg – blitzed together with a splash of almond milk to make a nutritious, sippable spin on a seasonal pud.

Ingredients you'll need
  • 2 apples
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 banana
  • 25g sunflower seeds
  • 330ml almond milk
  • 1 nutmeg

Step by step this way

    Quarter the apples, slice out the cores and roughly chop the apples. Tip into your blender. Scrub and roughly chop the carrot. Add to the apple. Peel and break in the banana. Shake in the sunflower seeds.

    Give the almond milk a careful shake to make sure it is well mixed. Pour in 330ml of the almond milk. Add a few ice cubes and blitz for a few mins till smooth and combined. Pour into glasses and grate a little nutmeg over the top to serve.
