Start your very own vegetable patch with our organic Seed Sowing Starter Bundle. We’ve packed this kit with everything you’ll need to get growing your own organic veg, including compost, plant labels, seedling strips and two packs of organic seeds from pioneering growers, Vital Seeds:

Organic Gardener’s Delight Tomato Seeds

These packs can be sown in the spring or summer, before transplanting to larger pots, ready to be harvested in the summer or autumn.

Start by popping your seeds in the Recycled Biodegradable Pulp Seedling Strip included in the bundle and adding a layer of Dalefoot Composts’ innovative Wool Compost. This mix of sheep’s wool and bracken retains moisture and slowly releases nutrients into the soil, feeding your plants as they grow and requiring fewer trips with the watering can.

Once your seeds are tucked in, just label them with E-Pots’ Wooden Plant Labels
and handy twig pencil, so you can easily keep tabs on which seeds are which. The labels are all reusable and biodegradable.

Cucumber Seeds, Marketmore:

Cucumber tips: For best results start cucumbers in pots in March and plant out in a polytunnel or glasshouse in April/May. Some varieties are well suited to outdoor growing and will withstand lower temperatures. Outdoor cucumbers should be planted a bit later (mid May) to avoid any risk of frost damage.

Chilli Seeds, De Cayenne:

Chilli tips: Sow indoors in pots or large modules. Sow two seeds in each pot and remove the less vigorous one. Once your plant has two sets of leaves, pot on into larger pots and water with feed when the first flowers appear. Early crops benefit from fleece to protect them from cold.
