The pigs are pasture raised, so they eat what’s grown on the farm which is high in protein (barley, oats, peas, beans, legumes). This high quality diet and lifestyle shows up in the flavour of the meat.

These Pork Escalopes from The Green Butcher are super lean and especially tender. They're best left whole, and best pan-fried or grilled. Cover them in breadcrumbs and you can have yourself a beautiful schnitzel meal.

This pork is comprised of Native Breeds: Tamworth and Saddlebacks. It is sourced by Nick at The Green Butcher from farmers Helen & Sam Wade at Eastleach Downs Organic Farm in the Cotswolds.

Producer

The Green Butcher is a small, Twickenham-based cooperative, co-owned by Nick Green and the pioneering organic, British dairy farm, Horton House Farm on the Wiltshire-Somerset border. The Green Butcher was founded to champion the virtues of low-impact, low-input, pasture-based farming, where livestock are rotated to a fresh, nutritious pasture every day, to give the soil time to regenerate and boost biodiversity. All of the collective’s meat bears the Pasture for Life mark, which certifies that it comes from animals raised only on grass and pasture.
