Add a flash of deep colour to your garden with this Lobelia ‘Queen Victoria’ from Organic Blooms. This striking perennial produces bold spikes of scarlet flowers that stand tall above rich beet-red foliage – perfect for bringing height to borders.

What makes me special?

- Fiery summer blooms. Dense spikes of vivid scarlet, two-lipped flowers appear from midsummer right through to early autumn.
- Rich, colourful foliage. Deep beet-red, lance-shaped leaves form a striking rosette at the base.
- Adds height and structure. Grows to around 90–120cm tall.
- Versatile planting. Looks at home in borders, bog gardens or by water edges, and works beautifully in containers and tubs.
- Easy seasonal performer. A clump-forming perennial that brings reliable colour year after year, especially in milder areas where it can overwinter.
- Simple to care for. Unpack as soon as possible, water well and place in a bright spot to settle in after delivery. Avoid ingestion, as leaves contain alkaloids that may be harmful if eaten.
- Eye-catching garden feature. Plant on its own as a focal point or group together for a bold, dramatic display.

Handle with care. The leaves contain alkaloids and can be toxic if eaten, so keep away from pets and children.

Producer

Jo Wright and her team at Organic Blooms work hard to bring organic flowers to your door. Based in Gloucestershire, they run as a social enterprise, providing jobs for those who might struggle in a traditional workplace. Horticultural therapy is at the heart of what they do – gardening and plant-tending being excellent options for those with varying support needs. We work with them to plan upcoming crops, making sure each flower is reliable, interesting and satisfying for their staff to grow. We’re proud to say that, because of our support, they’ve been able to hire more people than ever before.

Storage & prep

Open straight away and water well. Your plant will arrive in a biodegradable wood-pulp pot, you can keep it inside this pot for a little while but it will start to break down once you've watered it a few times. You can either pot it on inside the pot, give it a good soak first and it will slowly break down allowing the roots to grow outwards. Or you can tip it out of the pot to pot it on and compost or reuse the wood-pulp pot.
