Coombe Lynher sits tucked into the valley of the River Lynher in East Cornwall, where Richard Rowan has been farming land his family has cared for for more than a century. The fields have been organic for the past 30 years, producing generous crops of big leaf spinach grown slowly and carefully by hand. Richard’s approach is all about working close to the soil, nurturing each crop without the use of agrochemicals. The result is a farm full of life, where birdsong, bees and insects thrive, and every leaf reflects his hands-on, committed way of growing food.
