- 1 tbsp olive or rapeseed oil

Step by step this way
- 1.
Peel and finely chop the onion. Peel and finely grate or crush the garlic. Scoop into a medium bowl.
- 2.
Stir in the maple syrup, tomato sauce, smoked paprika, Worcester sauce and tamari. Pour in 1 tbsp oil and mix till you have a thick paste.
- 3.
Add your protein to the marinade and leave for 30 mins at room temperature or overnight in the fridge.
- 4.
Grill, roast or barbeque your protein. Alternatively simmer with some stock or chopped tomatoes. Serve with your choice of sides.
