This is beautifully flavourful succulent mackerel. Season them with a sprinkle of salt and pepper and gently sizzle them in a pan with some olive oil. You'll want to leave the skin on for that lovely crispness, and it will also hold the fillet together.
Our mackerel has an MCS rating of 2/3 from Cornish or Scottish waters. Mackerel is mainly caught by handline, but occasionally by drift net or purse seine.Caution: Although every care has been taken to remove bones, some may remain.

For us they will only source fish that is rated 1-3 on the Marine Conservation Society’s sustainability scale, meaning it’s more responsibly caught.

Storage & prep

Store refrigerated below 5°C, and consume on or before the use by date shown on the pack.

Mackerel are delicious grilled, pan-fried or barbecued, with little need for seasoning. This mackerel is provided ready to cook, so all you need to do is drop it in the pan or pop it under the grill.

We guarantee that your order of fish will have at least 3 days before its expiry date, including the day of your delivery. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze as soon as possible after delivery and use within one month of freezng. Ensure that the fish is fully defrosted before cooking. Once defrosted do not re-freeze.
