Sarah Payne started selling her organic homemade brownies on eBay from her home in Partridge Green. The kitchen, which doubled as a factory, became so full of goodies that husband Rory built a shed in the garden for the overspill. But the business kept on growing! They now have their own Cocoa Loco-focused kitchen in Horsham. Beyond being utterly delicious, their treats also have high eco credentials. Their organic cacao, for example, is grown in gaps in the rainforest canopy, not from clear-cut areas.
Each week, the amount of rubbish produced by their business is equal to just one household bin. Everything else is recycled. Their electricity is from a green power company and all their packaging is bio-degradable and compostable. There's not a scrap of plastic to be seen either – all their bags are cellulose.
These irresistible nibbles are the perfect alternative to a large piece of cake. They're ideal with an afternoon (or mid-morning!) cuppa, perfect lunchbox fillers and an absolute must for picnics.
The melt-in-your-mouth dark chocolate brownies are amazing! Dense but light, buttery… and they have nuggets of dark chocolate going through them. They're just heavenly!
These 'Naughty but Nice' goodies are made exclusively for us by Cocoa Loco, named The Times/Soil Association's 'Food Hero' in 2008, for a million wonderful reasons.
