The January Wine Cellar

The fact that the New Year begins in the cold and dark in the UK has never sat quite right with me. Despite the gloomy weather, we set our resolutions and start out with the most positive of intentions. Whether it’s one too many helpings of buttery mash or polishing off the biscuit tin when you only reached for one, we’re all bound to slip up from time to time. Which is why Abel & Cole are here to help those looking to drink a little less after a season of indulgence. Try switching your usual tipple for a tall glass from our new range of organic, low ABV wines. They’re low on alcohol but big on lively flavours – cheers to that!

Fruity French Chardonnay
Whilst fruity in character, this French Chardonnay from organic dynamo Pierre Chavin packs a pleasing amount of acidity for a low ABV wine (5.5%). High-impact aromas of lychee and elderflower lead to a medium-dry palate and lively but rounded mouth-feel.

Soft Cabernet Sauvignon
Soft and juicy with an underlying bed of fine tannin and acidity, this Cabernet Sauvignon delivers layers of ripe red fruit and a light herbal character. Also at 5.5% ABV, this number can be sipped at ease at the dinner table with food or on its tod!

Monthly Wine Club

Each month our wine guru Honey Spencer gives us her top picks. You’ll discover a new organic trio of wines with every turn of the calendar, complete with tasting notes and titbits on the organic vineyards.
