Fruity Summer Sangria

A refreshing wine punch hailing from Spain and Portugal, Sangria is traditionally made with red wine, fresh seasonal fruit and orange juice. This super summery spin adds sunny slices of citrus fruit and tingly mint sprigs, with a fizzy splash of lemonade for sparkle.

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges
  • 2 lemons
  • 750ml light red wine, chilled
  • 300ml orange juice, chilled
  • A handful of fresh mint sprigs
  • 300ml lemonade, chilled

Method

1. Slice the oranges and lemons into rounds. Set aside.
2. Add a couple of handfuls of ice to a large jug, then pour in the red wine and orange juice. Add the sliced fruit and mint sprigs and stir well to make sure the red wine and orange juice are chilled.
3. Pour in the lemonade and give everything a gentle stir to mix. Serve straight away in tumblers, with extra ice.
4. Extra Oomph
If you'd like to liven up your Sangria, you can add 100ml brandy to the mix. It will make the drink much boozier, so be mindful about your serving sizes when pouring it.
