Give your garden a green helping hand with natural Hortiwool Garden Wool from our friends at Woolcool. These wool pads make fantastic material for nesting birds, leave some bunches of wool in trees and hedges for your feathered friends to pluck from. Being thick and absorbent, these pads are also brilliant for lining your hanging baskets to help lock in moisture, and protect young plants from frost and slugs. What’s more, because they’re made from 100% sheep’s wool, they compost and mulch wonderfully, adding vital nutrients to your garden soil. The Hortiwool made quite a splash as it also won the 2022 GIMA (Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association) Sustainability Award.

Producer

The pioneering folk at Woolcool® are experts in fashioning sustainable solutions for insulating food. In fact, they’re the first packaging company of their kind to achieve B Corp certification here in the UK. Their insulated fleece liners have been keeping our chilled boxes cold for many years now, replacing the need for non-recyclable polystyrene. Woolcool® only use 100% sheep’s wool, sourcing every bundle from happy herds who are clipped by a licensed shearer to maintain the sheep’s health and welfare. The wool is heat treated, washed and scoured, leaving just the smell of the farm behind. Woolcool® opt for a chemical-free approach, and the scent is an indicator that the lining is entirely natural and free of synthetic cleaners. If any of our liner packets break down, the wool can be recombined, recycled or simply composted.
