Through working with our dairy farmer, Nick Gosling at Berkeley Farm Dairy, we are able to bring you this deliciously creamy, 100% pure Guernsey milk.
There is some evidence to suggest that a product made entirely from Guernsey milk (which contains high levels of the A2 variety of a protein called beta-casein) has special health benefits. Although some people contest the scientific research behind this, we recognised the demand for it – and it tastes heavenly!
Like all Nick's milk, this 100% Guernsey is unhomogenized. It's milk the old-fashioned way. It's also extremely fresh. When you place your order the milk may not have even left the cow!
All of our milk is pasturised.
Nick and Christine Gosling produce this golden milk from their much-loved herd of Guernseys. They graze in wild flower meadows and on the greenest grass in the same Wiltshire valley in which Nick's father and grandfather raised their Guernsey dairy cows.
Christine milks the cows at 4.30am and 3.30pm and she puts on Radio 2 for them in the milking parlour. The Guernseys come in by themselves as their favourite food - silage and molasses - is waiting for them on the other side.
It takes Christine about 2 hours to get through the herd, and while they're listening to Chris Evans (they miss Terry) she gives them a quick health check, too - any signs of something wrong and she'll treat the symptoms with homeopathic remedies. These are some of the most-loved cows in Britain.
