We're thrilled to bring you these entriely plastic and peat free potted herbs from Organic Blooms. Fresh spearmint makes a delicious tea and is a joy to have on hand in the kitchen for cocktails and garnishes.

You should be able to use a little of your organic spearmint right away, but it's best to grow the plant on for a couple of weeks before giving it a bigger chop. This plant will thrive in well-drained but moist soil when given plenty of sunlight. Best grown in a pot, as it will compete with other plants in the garden if left unchecked. If it outgrows the compostable pot it arrives in, simply replant in a larger one.

Storage & prep

Open straight away and water well. Spearmint likes a sunny windowsill or sunny bed outside, it is a perennial herb and will die back in the winter but re-emerge in the spring. Your plant will arrive in a biodegradable wood-pulp pot, you can keep it inside this pot for a little while but it will start to break down once you've watered it a few times. You can either pot it on inside the pot, give it a good soak first and it will slowly break down allowing the roots to grow outwards. Or you can tip it out of the pot to pot it on and compost or reuse the wood-pulp pot.
