Our staff, like our customers and our suppliers, are extremely important to us.
We are proud of our company culture, which
combines friendliness, supportiveness and humour with outstanding levels of achievement at work. Our commitment to our staff
and their development has helped shape the success of our company.
- Junior Buyer - Andover
This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a career in Buying. Initially you will take responsibility for sourcing products for our recipe boxes and also, with support, to develop more robust plans with some of our smaller suppliers. It is likely that this will involve overseas travel – particularly to Holland, where many of our wholesale suppliers are based. Within Abel & Cole, you will need to work closely with our recipe box and fulfilment teams to ensure availability is maximised whilst understanding the company’s margin aspirations.
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are more important than any specific Buying experience. Numeracy and an analytical approach are useful skills as well as an interest in food and particularly fresh produce. Some knowledge of agricultural practices will be useful, but isn’t essential.
Interpersonal skills are hugely important as is your ability to communicate, influence and ultimately negotiate with a wide range of people.
A driving licence is desirable, though not essential.

This role will involve working with a lot of teams across our business including merchandising, marketing and an emerging product development team to execute seasonal campaigns, as well as working with our great suppliers to develop products and ranges.

- Full or Part-time Field Salespeople Wanted
We need a few more fantastic veg box sellers, are you one of them?
Know your carrots from your cauliflower? What’s the fastest organic veg? (Clearly, it’s the runner bean)
We’re looking for brilliant, enthusiastic, self-employed, self-confessed veg lovers with the gift of the gab. You’ll use your pretty amazing communication skills to talk the socks off all kinds of folk about Abel & Cole out in the field (well, on doorsteps) or at a variety of events.
We’ve got fantastically flexible working hours, a great team spirit, and loads of kohlrabi. We’ll give you all the training you need (we’ll pay for your travel), a free box of fruit and veg each week (worth £12.50), and a 35% discount on all the rest of our stuff. When you’re through, we’ll pay you weekly, and you can earn an average of £40-£100 per 3 ½ hour shift (the sky’s your limit).
