A biscuit version of apple crumble: what a marvellous idea! Our friends Joseph and Dawn dreamt this one up and we just adore it. The buttery, oaty, apply biscuit is the perfect remedy for an itchy sweet tooth, and a delicious partner for a well-made cuppa.
Joseph and Dawn Reade set up the Island Bakery on the Isle of Mull, where Joe has lived since the age of 11. He met Dawn in Edinburgh when they were students, and she joined him on Mull in 1994, where they then set up their bakery, driving bread around the island to sell it in the local shops. Now they have their own shop in Tobermory where they handmake a delicious abundance of superb cakes and biscuits. Love and biscuits. Who needs anything else?
