This pot of fresh basil pesto is made with organic English basil – a bit of a rarity in the world of pesto. We don't even sell it all year round as Christanne and her team, who make the pesto for us, have to wait for the sun to come out and the basil to grow before they can make it.
Handmade with generous helpings of wholly organic ingredients, this really is a marvellous pesto. Richard and Christianne run their small business from a re-vamped stable block in Hampshire. Passionate about flavour, quality (Christianne is a cordon-bleu cook!) and sustainable farming and food, they pour their hearts into making delicious food that won't deplete the planet, or be of detriment to your health!

If your surname was Pollen, you would have to work with food, or honey, in some fashion. So, in 2000, Richard Pollen gave up a career in marketing to devote himself to Pollen True Taste. He and his wife, Christianne, have seven children, the youngest 14, and, as most had left home, Mrs Pollen wanted to put her old skills as a Cordon Bleu cook to use. Work started, as it so often does, in the family kitchen, on the Aga. Their set-up is still very homey. Their working kitchen is set in a stable block near their home in Bramshott Chase, Hampshire.
