Take a sip of this delicious, organic Tomares Ballus Rosé from Château Aspras. Crafted in Côtes de Provence, this beautiful, pale pink wine has notes of raspberry on the nose and a bright finish for a refreshing summer tipple.
Château Aspras is tended to by Sebastien Latz, the third generation of his family to take care of the vineyard. When asked about the name of this wine, Sebastien explained that ‘Tomares Ballus’ was a type of butterfly which had disappeared from the Provence region, due to a reliance on commercial insecticides. After the town of Correns (where the vineyard is located) became fully organic, the butterfly reappeared. The residents of the town credit the gentler, more sustainable farming style with the uptick in insect life. So, with every delicious sip, you’re helping biodiversity to continue to flourish in this beautiful part of the world.
